Cristina Lazic, DJ/Producer & Founder at La Zic | shesaid.so Parenthood Committee
“The memory of my first shesaid.so workshop at Fabric London, around 7/8 years ago, is still vivid. It was on the topic of DJ bookings, a topic that at the time was incredibly new to me but that has definitely changed my life. A few months later I also attended a coding for women workshop at Shazam.
shesaid.so instantly captivated me with its innovative spirit and visionary approach. This incredible community has become more than just a professional network. It's a safe space for vulnerability, a source of endless inspiration from amazing women in music, and a wellspring of fruitful collaborations - some of my most important releases feature the voice of beautiful women from the ssso community. But most importantly, it's fostered friendships I deeply cherish, and the strong esteem I have for Andreea.
Happy 10th anniversary, shesaid.so! Looking forward to an even brighter next decade, with more continued growth, empowerment and inspirational moments for women in music.”
Nikki McNeill, Global Publicity | Director, shesaid.so Brighton
“It’s amazing how Andreea has grown shesaid.so into such a global community that continues to grow and evolve. It’s such a valuable network that I wish I’d had when I was younger and struggling to navigate my way through the industry.
One of my favourite shesaid.so experiences was doing the mini mentoring sessions as ESNS in The Netherlands with Sarah Stam and I saw first hand how mentoring can really make a difference and was really inspired by the young women we were supporting. I even met one of them recently at IMS who now has a job at Armada Music.I really love the feeling of bringing people together and helping to make a difference to others and running the Brighton Chapter is such a privilege. Looking forward to the next decade of shesaid.so and beyond. Congratulations to Andreea and all the team.”
Nur Ozdamar, Head of Artist & Label Development EMEA, YouTube & Google
“Ten years! That's a whole decade of changing the game.
Ten years of lifting each other up, of amplifying voices that deserve to be heard. Ten years of proving that women, gender non-conforming people, and allies can build an industry where everyone shines.
I've witnessed your passion, your creativity, your unwavering commitment to equality. You're not just talking the talk, you're walking the walk. The world needs your voices, your vision, your unstoppable spirit.
Happy anniversary, shesaid.so. To the next ten years, and beyond. Together..”
Ben Turner, Director/Graphite Music
“Congratulations to shesaid.so for this landmark moment. I remember meeting Andreea for the first time on the top floor of Soho House West Hollywood at a Mixcloud dinner over a decade ago and her telling me her vision for the platform.
I was immediately taken by her passion, sense of purpose and single focus on the power of the female community in the music industry.
It led to a positive allyship between myself and Andreea and shesaid.so, and it opened my eyes to dig deeper and try harder to open up platforms I’m involved in to give a voice to new ideas, initiatives and individuals. It's been a remarkable team effort.
She didn’t just talk about it – she did it.”
Connie Chow & Melissa d'Engelbronner - shesaid.so Amsterdam
“It’s been inspiring to watch shesaid.so grow for the last ten years as a participant and a chapter director. For Melissa and I, this community has been a great way to build roots in a new country, opening doors to a network of inspiring individuals in the music industry.
Through meetups, workshops, and collaborative projects, we’ve forged deep friendships and professional relationships that span the globe. It’s been eye-opening to witness and participate in initiatives that are reshaping the industry landscape. From mentorship programs to advocacy campaigns, we’ve seen firsthand that collective action can drive real progress.
This community has not only expanded our professional horizons but also instilled in us the belief that we have the power to make a difference. As we celebrate a decade of growth and impact, we’re grateful for the connections made and the shared vision of a more inclusive, equitable music industry that shesaid.so continues to nurture.”
shesaid.so Athens Directors & Team
“Happy Birthday, our beloved shesaid.so!
We still remember back in 2020 how eager we were to finally join the chapter network, driven by our passion to create more change in gender equality within the Greek music scene. We were excited to connect with all of you, to learn, get inspired, and open up new opportunities for local talent.
Since then, we had the opportunity to speak and advocate for equality and equity in many events, connect and create allies, coexist with local organizations and important cultural spaces, organize our own successful events, and make our voices heard.
Our journey as shesaid.so Athens, the only Greek chapter, has been about growing the local network, connecting, exchanging knowledge, reaching out to all femininities in the arts sector, and creating awareness around inequality, safety, harassment, gender rights, and other core issues.
shesaid.so has been nothing short of inspiring. It's incredible to see how many talented womxn have come together to build this network, supporting one another every step of the way.
Small efforts, when combined, can lead to big change! Happy 10th anniversary, and here's to many more to come!”
Associative Office, Board of Directors & Team - France Chapter
“Happy birthday shesaid.so !
The French branch is proud to be part of this international community and to develop actions for gender equality in music within our territory.
Thanks to the involvement of its members, shesaid.so France made possible the creation of Majeur·e·s (www.majeures.org), the first inclusive directory of cis women, trans, and non-binary professionals in music industry.
At the same time, shesaid.so France continues to grow with its 9 regional chapters and nearly 5000 engaged members on the private Facebook group.
Thank you for this decade of commitment to music.”
shesaid.so Miami
“The women of shesaid.so Miami are truly something special. Over the past year, our group has grown exponentially, and we’ve had the joy of hosting incredible events like a glamorous Meta Brunch at Savoy, a night out at the Bandshell with Dav Julca featuring free drinks and apps, and so much more.
Our community is all about uplifting each other, creating a safe space to ask questions, seek support, and make meaningful connections. Whether it’s networking or referring the right people to the right opportunities, we’re stronger than ever—and we’re just getting started.”
Mariana Moore Matos shesaid.so Portugal Co- director
“A decade of commitment to this global community, congrats shesaid.so!
It’s an honor to be able to represent and contribute to the Portuguese local chapter and be part of the global community.
My first experience was traveling to Portimão/Portugal for the international summit Meets in 2019, where the national chapter picked up its regular activity (you know who you are!) – it caused quite an impact as I’ve never left.
A decade of outstanding contributions, that we all have to thank for. A safe home to exchange professional concerns, opportunities and guidance but most of all be reminded on a daily basis that we possibly won’t make it without the support of a community.
Sincere appreciation wishes to Andreea Magdalina and the whole team (past and present) for putting an effort year-after-year to make our industry more equitable. Looking forward to the next. "
shesaid.so Finland co-directors, Maiju Talvisto & Lilli Keh
